Java servlets, a server extension technology commonly used for creating dynamic web content, are a fast, powerful, portable alternative to CGI scripts. The course begins by explaining the role and advantages of servlets. Included are lessons and lab exercises on servlet debugging, image generation with servlets, server-side includes, servlet chaining, applet-servlet communication and session tracking.
