Bangkok--8 Oct--Oasis Media NetApp, storage and data management solutions provider, has teamed up with VMware to organize “VMware + NetApp = The Best Virtualization Landscape!” seminar in Thailand, showcasing virtualization technology for efficient data storage, with an aim to expand customer base in medium and large enterprise sectors. NetApp (Thailand) country channel director Thanes Bordeesorn said an analyst firm in ASEAN forecasts IT service spending will reach US$13.4 billion in 2008, over 40% of which is intended for Internet and storage solutions. This results from the proliferation of applications and digital information, especially videos, images and audio files. Another driver is compliance requirements. The Computer Crime Act B.E 2550 (2007) requires businesses to retain log files for a longer period, resulting in the growth of storage market in Thailand. Rated as a leader in De-duplication by Gartner Research 2008 and as the best storage provider by IDC’s Storage Professional Services Survey 2007, NetApp has today joined forces with VMware to hold an unmissable seminar titled “VMware + NetApp = The Best Virtualization Landscape!”. This seminar aims to provide useful information on virtualization technology for efficient and power-saving data storage. Specialists from NetApp and VMware as well as customers’ representatives will share their knowledge and experiences on storage virtualization, which increasingly plays an important role in business, especially for mid-size and large enterprises. The seminar will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 13.00 — 17.00 hrs., Ballroom 1, Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok. During the seminar, NetApp will be showcasing a wide range on storage solutions, including Saving with Thin Provisioning and De-Duplication, Flexible with FlexVol and FlexClone, Backup & Recovery with SnapManager, Disaster and recovery on VMware environment. “VMware and NetApp enjoy a longstanding, productive relationship, and today’s announcement further expands our engagement to provide customers in Thailand with high-impact solutions based on VMware virtualization and NetApp storage,” said Jim Lenox, General Manager, VMware Asia South. “We are committed to leverage joint resources and expertise that help customers create flexible IT environments to reduce capital and operating expenses, ensure business continuity, strengthen security and improve energy efficiencies.” For more information please contact: Press Release issued by: NetApp Thailand Ltd.
