Bangkok--10 Oct--Thana Burin Asia Pacific IMPACT Management & Exhibition Co Ltd has won TICA Business Trade Exhibition and the TICA Incentive Travel Awards from Thailand Incentive and Convention Association (TICA) for being the outstanding venue host and rendering superior service and support to the two major MICE events which successfully took place at IMPACT Exhibition Centre at Muang Thong Thani in 2006 and 2007 respectively. Mr Loy Joon How, General Manager of IMPACT Management & Exhibition Co Ltd, said “We are very pleased with “The Business Trade Exhibition 2006-2007 Awards” — Business Trade Exhibition Award and Incentive Travel Award granted by Thailand Incentive and Convention Association (TICA). The TICA awards are accorded to Thailand’s MICE industry players in recognition of outstanding performance and contributions to the industry.” The judging panel for the TICA Awards comprises industry professionals from Thailand’s MICE private and government sectors, including TICA, Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) and Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). The Business Trade Exhibition Award accorded to IMPACT is for the successful hosting the THAIFEX-World of Food Asia 2007 exhibition for the food and beverage industry took place at IMPACT Exhibition Centre. Jointly organised by the Thailand of Export Promotion, Thai Chamber of Commerce and Koelnmesse GmbH. THAIFEX 2007 spanned across IMPACT Challenger 2-3 with 2,070 exhibition booths taken up by over 300 exhibitors from 30 countries. Over 22,011 visitors attended the event. The organisers hailed the event as a resounding success for both exhibitors and attendees. On-site business transactions worth over 3,500 million baht were generated during this event. “The Incentive Trade Award was accorded to IMPACT for hosting the Herbalife Asia Pacific Extravaganza 2006 which took place in June of that year. Herbalife’s annual event was attended by over 16,000 delegates from 13 Asia Pacific countries. The event was a key networking and powerful platform for Herbalife distributors to exchange sales experiences, share success business stories, methodologies and attend inspiring workshops and seminars. The organiser was pleased with the professional support received from IMPACT Exhibition Centre and the best recommendation we could have is that we at IMPACT have been chosen again for their next event which was held successfully in July this year,” Mr Loy said. He added “There has been more progress in the MICE industry with increasing numbers of quality visitors to Thailand, particularly those attending exhibitions and conferences. This also leads to further investment opportunities. Revenue from the MICE industry is at the forefront of the national income. It is forecast that in 2008 there will be an increase of 947,600 business visitors to Thailand who will generate some 65,000 million baht of revenue or an increase of 20% from 2007. “The awards” reflects the strength of Thailand to host any international exhibition or conference. This is also in line with the government’s strategic plan for this year as The Year of Investment and then 2009 for The Year of Tourism. To be in line with that strategy, IMPACT has developed our team members, as well as other concerned facilities to ensure fully support of the increasing demand. We are confident that this will not be only beneficial to our organisation, but will bring in the tremendous benefits to Thailand as a whole,” Mr Loy said.
