Bangkok--13 Oct--The Japan Foundation, Bangkok The Japan Foundation, Bangkok and AGGS with the support of The Style by TOYOTA proudly present “Live Drawing Performance” and drawing workshop by the Japanese illustrator Kin Shiotani on Thursday 23rd October 2008 at The Style by TOYOTA, between Siam Square Soi 2 and Soi 3 (backside ofLido). Kin Shiotani is an illustrator and a poet who has a unique style of drawing. He is an apprentice of Chris Mosdell, a poet who wrote lyrics for the famous 80’s techno-pop band, Yellow Magic Orchestra (one of the members was Ryuichi Sakamoto). Kin loves backpacking, he travels all over the country and in 1995 he launched a set of postcards called “a young man who…” which were illustrations accompanied by one phrase of poetry that gained him recognition as an illustrator. At present he expands his field of work to illustrate for school text books, writing gags for television scripts to even composing lyrics. Another important point of Kin Shiotani is “Drawing Theater”,live performing of quick drawing mixed with interesting story telling that amuse the audiences with his clever and stylish but easy to understand art. We welcome all the audiences with high hope that you will fully be entertained by the wit of “Live Drawing Performance” and also have a try by drawing some yourself in the workshop session, let’s ‘draw’ yourself out!Date and timeThursday 23rd October 2008First round 14.00 — 15.30Second round 17.00 — 18.30VenueEvent Hall, 3rd Floor at The Style by TOYOTA, between Siam Square Soi 2 and Soi 3 (backside of Lido), Pathumwan, Bangkok.
