Chevron and PTTEP join hands in founding International Master’s Degree Program in Petroleum Geoscience at Chulalongkorn University 300 million baht investment to make Thailand center of energy experts
Tara Tiradnakorn (2nd left), President of Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production Ltd. together with Anon Sirisaengtaksin (left), CEO of PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Professor Dr. Pirom Kamol-ratanakul (right), President of Chulalongkorn University to launch a new international master’s degree program in Petroleum Geoscience, opening in 2009. The program, the first of its kind in Thailand with cooperation between major oil companies, is set to make Chulalongkorn University a regional center of geoscience. As part of its commitment, Chevron Thailand and PTTEP, leading oil companies in Thailand, will provide funding of US$10 million during the first five academic years during 2009-2014. The signing ceremony was presided over by Dr. Boonrasi Tongpenyai (2nd right), Deputy Director-General of the Department of Mineral Fuels, Ministry of Energy.
