Dell Starts Major Expansion in the Thai Consumer Computer Market
Dell today launched its first concept store in Thailand as part of its strong outreach plan to penetrate the Thai consumer computer market. Created on the 'built-to-order' concept, showcasing Dell's consumer computer products, the store aims to be a one-stop shop for today's smart, savvy and selective users who need personalized computer devices that best suit their individual needs.
“Modern consumers are more selective in what they need in their new computer,” Mr. Anothai Wettayakorn, Managing Director, Dell Corporation (Thailand) revealed. “Before customers would buy a product with features that did not suit their overall needs. Today we are changing the way customers buy a new computer. The new Dell Concept Store offers our customers their own unique requirements, in selecting a computer. At Dell we understand that today’s consumer want their computer to express their own individuality and to truly reflect who they are and what they really need.
“Our new store offers consumers the purchasing power of build-to-order (BTO) products where they can tailor every single requirement from the full line of product choices we offer - right down to the style, design, color choice and technical aspects - these are all essential factors that consumers now face when purchasing a laptop or desktop and we are here to make it as easy as possible for them.”
Intel Microelectronics (Thailand) Ltd. Marketing Programme Manager, Mrs. Dudchaneeporn Pruckwattananon, agrees, “As a long time Dell partner, we are glad to see Dell inaugurate a new concept store in Thailand that offers the customer the right solutions when buying a new laptop. The new store provides consumers with easy access to advanced technologies from Dell and Intel, all the while strengthening overall consumer confidence when purchasing a new computer. This marks a major step for Dell in successfully penetrating the consumer market in Thailand.”
The new Dell concept store displays a full line of consumer products including desktops, laptops, LCD monitors and computer accessories. Its unique decoration features a bright and friendly ambience with white as the dominating color. Inserts of red, green, yellow and pink in each of the display panels reflects the various color choices and personalization options available in Dell's new laptops and notebook computers.
“The Dell concept store is the first major channel in building direct contact with our customers while strengthening our brand among a wider consumer base in Thailand. Trained staff will be on hand to help customers gain an understanding of the products they wish to purchase. Although this is the first store of its kind in Thailand, we plan to set up 5 new Dell concept stores at leading shopping and IT malls within the metropolitan area of Bangkok with another 10 new stores countrywide by the end of the year,” Krittawit Krittayaruangroj, Dell Consumer Marketing Manager concluded.
