Bangkok--27 Oct--Hill & Knowlton Rolls-Royce announced that it has signed a long-term TotalCare(R) agreement with Jet Airways and Qatar Airways to support their Trent engines. The service agreement with Qatar Airways will cover the fleet of four Rolls-Royce Trent 500-powered Airbus A340-600s and one VIP-configured Airbus A340-500. With Jet Airways of India the agreement will cover the Trent 700 engines, which power its Airbus A330-200 aircraft. The two airlines join a growing number of operators which have chosen TotalCare(R), the market-leading service support package, which can be tailored for individual operators. It offers a range of services from Rolls-Royce covering all aspects of asset management, using the company’s knowledge, experience and infrastructure. Service agreements broaden the opportunity for Rolls-Royce to increase aftermarket revenues, which in turn provide considerable visibility of earnings into the future. Revenue from aftermarket services comprises 63 per cent of Rolls-Royce’s Civil Aerospace revenues. Today more than 55 per cent of the company’s modern jet engine fleet is covered by TotalCare(R) or CorporateCare(R) service agreements. With around 80 per cent of civil engine orders announced by Rolls-Royce in the last 18 months incorporating service arrangements, the proportion of fleet coverage will continue to rise, giving increased visibility of revenues. Notes to editors 1. Qatar Airways is one of only five airlines in the world with a Five Star ranking for service and excellence awarded by Skytrax, the independent aviation industry monitoring agency. 2. Jet Airways was the first airline in India to operate a member of the Trent family of engines with its two A330-200s. It is India’s oldest privately-owned domestic airline and began international operations in 2004. 3. A programme of continuous improvement, involving the introduction of the latest Trent family technology to the Trent 700, will ensure increased benefits to customers, such as the lowest fuel burn of any engine on the A330. 4. Rolls-Royce has a broad customer base comprising more than 600 airlines, 4,000 corporate and utility aircraft and helicopter operators, 160 armed forces, more than 2,000 marine customers, including 70 navies, and energy customers in nearly 120 countries. It employs around 38,800 people worldwide in offices, manufacturing and service facilities in 50 countries and has businesses headquartered in the UK, US, Canada, Germany, Scandinavia and China. This global presence allows the Group to access long-term international growth opportunities with its technology, presence, partnerships and people.
