Bangkok--30 Oct--Midas PR
Rotary Club of Bangkok South (RCBS)’s annual fund-raising event, Coins on Silom will be held on
October 31st 2008.
A 2 kilometer long red tape will be laid as a carpet along the footpaths on both sides of Silom Road - between the Dusit Thani hotel and Soi Lalaisap. Passers-by, in return for a small donation, are invited to place a symbolic “coin” bearing the event sponsors’ logos on the tape.
The donations will help fund various charity projects of The Rotary Club of Bangkok South throughout Thailand during the coming year. These projects benefit the disadvantaged and disabled, especially children and include: assistance to homes for disabled children; assistance to schools for the deaf and the blind; water purification projects for upcountry schools; self-sustaining “mini-farm” food projects for rural schools; and self-sustaining projects for low-income communities in Bangkok
Last year, Baht 2 million was raised for the charities throughout Thailand that the Rotary Club of Bangkok South supports and the target this year is to raise Baht 2.5 million.
Actress Sunansa Joy Jiramaneekul will join this charity event which kicks off at 6am on Friday October 31st. Meet her and the rest of Rotarians and volunteers at 9.30am at McDonalds, Silom Complex. This one-day event is scheduled to run until 6pm.
