TMB Bank Public Company Limited today announced that it has appointed new chiefs for its wholesale banking and SME banking businesses , and a new head of human resources.
These new appointments will form the senior management team TMB Bank directly under the leadership of CEO, Mr. Boontuck Wungcharoen. Since coming onboard in July this year, Mr. Boontuck has announced plans for turning TMB into a leading Thai bank with world-class financial solutions over the next three-to-five years.
“We aim to lift TMB’s market share to 15-20% over the next three years. TMB will be reorganized to be a customer-centric enterprise with specific strategies for each customer segment, covering customer needs during different stages of their life,” said Mr. Boontuck.
Piti Tantakasem, appointed Chief Wholesale Banking Officer with effect November 1 2008, will have overall responsibility for TMB’s Wholesale Banking Business. Mr. Piti joins TMB from KasikornBank Pcl, where he held various senior appointments in the last 12 years. He holds an MBA from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina and a Ph.D in Management under a collaboration program between Bangkok University and the University of Nebraska.
Sayam Prasitsirigul, appointed Chief SME Banking Officer with effect December 1, 2008, will have overall responsibility for the SME Banking Business. Mr. Sayam previously held various positions in business banking at Standard Chartered Bank (Thai) Pcl and was Head of Cash Management at KasikornBank Plc. He holds a MBA from the Peter F. Drucker Center — Claremont Graduate School, California.
Thawatchai Techawatanawana, appointed Head of Human Resources Group, effective November 14, 2008, has been with TMB since 2001 with experience in corporate business, credit risk management as well as business support. Mr. Thawatchai holds an MBA in Finance from the SASIN Graduate Institute of Business Administration.
“Ensuring that TMB has a team of experienced and capable senior management with strong expertise is critical to realize our vision to become a leading Thai bank, fully addressing the needs of each customer segment. ” said Mr. Boontuck.
The new appointments form the line-up directly under Mr.Boontuck. All three new appointees will work closely with Mr. Ramakrishan Suubramanian, Chief Retail Banking Officer, Mr. Bart Hellemans, Chief Risk Officer, Mr. Don Koch, Chief Operating Officer, Mrs. Chandraleka Wiriyavit, Acting Chief Finance Officer, Mr. Agapol Na Songkhla, Head of Strategy and Transformation Group, and M.L. Ayuth Jayant, Head of Corporate Governance Group.
