Pioneer has broken new ground in the HD market in the last quarter of the year with its new line of KURO plasma displays, achieving a deeper intensity of black with richer colours and sharper details, providing viewers of all ages a home entertainment experience of unprecedented quality.
Mr Rungrote Loetamnatkitseri, Marketing Manager — Home Audio Department of Pioneer Electronics (Thailand) said that although the unstable political and economic situation in Thailand had made consumers spend with caution, Pioneer’s focus on its premium position in the market with the launch of new products has received an exceptional welcome from the public. This is especially so in Pioneer HD World, with its flagship Blu-Ray disc player, KURO flat panel amplifier and HD speaker.
“Pioneer is confident that our latest launch of KURO flat panel and four categories of other new products will stimulate our sales volume in the fourth quarter and the whole of 2008,” said Rungrote.
Pioneer HD World with the Transformation concept is the first major exhibition of the company’s cutting-edge home entertainment technology in Thailand, bringing the audience into am unparalleled world of sight and sound. For the launch event, all Pioneer booths were redesigned to follow the international pattern, with Toyota Yaris converted into a special DJ booth for Pioneer DJ.
Targeted at high-end consumers who demand only the best, 2008 KURO is available in two types: 60-inch screen sizes in KRP-600M and 50-inch screen size in KRP-500A. The two latest models are the ninth generation of Pioneer’s plasma displays, featuring black levels five times deeper than the previous award winning 2007 KURO models, and ensuring the reproduction of images that are as close to the original as possible. The thickness of the main body has been reduced to 64 mm, or about half the size of the 2007 KURO models.
Pioneer also exhibited its other latest innovation and the outstanding products in four categories, Blu-Ray disc player, amplifier, speaker and home theatre:

- Amplifier: SC-LX 71 (Bt69,990), SC-LX 81 (Bt89,990), SC-LX 90 SUSANO (Bt279,990) and VSX-LX 51 (Bt54,990)
- Speaker system: EU8 and EX series (starts at Bt130,000)
- Home theatre system: HTZ-LX 61 (Bt39,990)
