Fully Integrated Business Systems and Processes Allow Company to Operate as One Six Months after the Close of the Acquisition
Blue Coat Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: BCSI), the leader in WAN Application Delivery and Secure Web Gateway, today announced that it has completed the final phase of integrating the Packeteer and Blue Coat businesses, only six months after the close of its acquisition of Packeteer, Inc. With integrated business processes, information systems, service contracts and pricing, Blue Coat can realize the full potential of the acquisition to better serve more than 15,000 customers and 2,800 channel partners worldwide.

Throughout the integration process, Blue Coat aligned its business systems and processes to achieve operational savings and efficiencies. As part of that effort, Blue Coat combined the support organizations of the two businesses, migrating more than 42,000 service records and 11,000 service contracts in the process.
Blue Coat now manages service contracts for PacketShaper appliances through its BlueTouch service program, which includes standard 24/7 support through its six follow-the-sun support centers around the world. This upgrades the standard legacy Packeteer support contracts, which typically only offered support from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
To optimize sales efficiency, Blue Coat has added more than 26,000 records for more than 8,000 Packeteer customers into its Salesforce.com database, unifying its forecasting and pipeline planning and increasing the ability to cross sell into its existing customer base.
Additionally, Blue Coat now manages its order administration and fulfilment processes with a single Oracle system. With the unified sales team selling the complete portfolio of Blue Coat application delivery network solutions from a single price list, including ProxySG and PacketShaper appliances, the integrated database reduces operating overhead and promotes sales efficiency.
To accelerate cross selling within the channel, Blue Coat implemented its Partner FASTRACK program. More than 415 Blue Coat channel partners now sell both PacketShaper and ProxySG appliances.
