ACM Narongsak Sangapong, THAI’s Executive Vice President, Corporate Secretariat and THAI’s acting President revealed that Thai Airways International Public Company Limited has received the Statement of Claim lodged by the New Zealand Commerce Commission (NZCC) at the High Court of New Zealand in Auckland alleging that the company together with other 13 airlines agreed to the level of fuel surcharges and security surcharges in contravention of New Zealand’s Commerce Act. NZCC has requested the Court to order the company to pay pecuniary penalty and costs, the amount of which are not specified in the Statement of Claim. THAI has already appointed a specialized local law firm to handle this case.
