Nokia is holding the “Nokia Loves Earth” exhibition to educate users about the mobile phone recycling process and offer tips about how to use your mobile device in the most energy-efficient way, along with a demonstration of electricity generated by human power. From now until February 14, 2009, users can visit the exhibition at Central World. You can help make a difference with the Nokia Loves Earth campaign by dropping any unused mobile device or accessory in one of the take-back boxes located at the 12 Nokia Care Centers, 23 Nokia Shops, Playhound shops, Power Buy locations in Bangkok and Central Department Stores at Central World Plaza, Pinklao, Ladprao, Rama II, Rama III and Jangwattana. Simply put your name and contact details on the phone to qualify to win in a lucky draw for three Nokia 5800 XpressMusic phones, a total value of 35,000 Baht.
Tips how to use your mobile device in the most energy efficient way:
Unplug the charger when the battery is full
Reduce the brightness of your phone’s display screen to use less energy
Set the standby time to the minimum to avoid unnecessary energy consumption
Turn off or disable sounds you don’t need such as keypad tones. You may also want to adjust the volume of your phone to an average level, particularly if you are inside your home or office. Fewer sounds mean you’re using less energy
Turn off functions such as Bluetooth or WLAN when you’re not using them
Take your unused mobile phone back for recycling
