Chinese New Year, one of the most traditionally important celebrations for the Chinese community the world over falls on 26 January this year.
To commemorate this culturally significant occasion, The Med will feature a special Chinese New Year buffet lunch and dinner from 25 to 29 January 2009.
It is customary for families to gather for a reunion dinner on Chinese New Year’s eve and to celebrate the Chinese New Year with delicious cuisine surrounded by friends and loved ones. Food served during Chinese New Year is selected very carefully and auspicious items such as whole fish, to represent togetherness and abundance, and chicken for prosperity feature prominently in the menu.
Join us for a taste of Chinese delights where the buffet will feature, spicy jellyfish salad, black chicken soup with Chinese herbs, Hainanese chicken rice, steamed fish, roast suckling pig Hong Kong style, salt and pepper soft shell crab, stir-fried scallops with Chinese greens, chili crab, Sichuan style braised prawns, braised pork belly and Mongolian lamb.
To observe one of the special customs of Chinese New Year, diners will be presented with “good luck” giveaway consisting of a Hong Bao (red packet) and 4 mandarin oranges (limited to 1 giveaway per table).
The Chinese New Year lunch is priced at Baht 990++ per person while the dinner is Baht 1,100++ per person. Gong Xi Fa Cai! Wishing you prosperity in the coming year.
