Bangkok--20 Jan--The Westin Grande Sukhumvit
The New Year brings an exciting new addition to The Westin Grande Sukhumvit, Bangkok. We are delighted to announce that Mr. Joachim Kreisel has been appointed the hotel’s new Executive Chef.
Joachim was most recently the Executive Sous Chef at The Westin Hotel in Sydney. Prior to that, he worked with Sheraton on the Park as its Banquet Sous Chef.
A native of Germany, he started his culinary career in Europe before moving to Australia and New Zealand where he has worked for the past 12 years at various Sheraton and Westin Hotels. “I learnt to appreciate the diversity of a multicultural environment encompassing many different cultures and cuisines from around the globe from my stint in these 2 fascinating countries” said Joachim. Joachim has a passion for motorbikes.
Joachim’s personal cooking philosophy is a simple one. To use and promote fresh local seasonal produce whenever possible and to gently blend different styles without over-use of too many ingredients ensuring the menu is kept ”clean” in both presentation and taste. His signature dish is duck confit cooked sous vide with casoulet vegetables.
Joachim is excited to be part of the hotel’s innovative culinary team and he looks forward to leading his team in refreshing the hotel’s food & beverage presentations toward a more contemporary and multi-cultural direction and feel.
