Yacht Solutions has embarked on an exciting new project transforming a 58 metre British Hydrographic Research vessel into a 60 metre luxury superyacht proving conversions are the innovative yacht-building option in today’s economic climate. With order books full in the top European and American yards for the next 2 years, superyacht conversions are enabling owners to jump to the front of the superyacht queue. Comprehensive yacht re-builds and conversions offer the best value in terms of investment, quality and timing.

We are currently transforming Project YS001 from a bare hull into a custom-designed luxury superyacht. Thus we can promise our customers a yacht to their exact specifications, complete with all new machinery and equipment at 25% of the market value of a 60 metre new build.” said Mr. Gareth Twist, Managing Director of Yacht Solutions.
This is the largest ever yacht re-build in Thailand with a conversion cost of US$13 million. The original vessel is being stripped down to the bare hull, keeping only the steel hull, tanks, shafts and propellers. It is then being completely re-built adding additional aluminium decks to its steel hull. This superyacht order which Yacht Solutions secured from a currently un-named Asian owner is firmly establishing the company in the arena of superyacht construction. Yacht conversions and re-builds are enabling owners to maximise their value for money without compromising on style, function or quality.
Project YS001, with a displacement in excess of 1200 gross tons, will offer world-class accommodation including an owners’ stateroom, VIP suite, a further five guest cabins, cinema, cocktail lounge and banqueting facilities for 20 people. The entire original interior will be stripped out and new interiors designed and fitted. The six decks will also incorporate a sun lounge, swimming pool, three Jacuzzi’s, two tenders and two jet skis. The crew quarters span half of one of the lower decks offering accommodation for sixteen crew.
Project YS001 is the first collaboration between Yacht Solutions and Warwick Yacht Design in New Zealand.

Project YS001 started in June 2008 and is scheduled for completion May 2010. Yacht Solutions is managing the project out of Mits Decision shipyard in Bangkok.
