Sichuan food is one of the Four Great Traditions of Chinese Cuisine, you can sum it all up as spicy, hot, fresh and fragrant.
The Conrad Bangkok in coordination with China Airlines, Fin and Jagota organize the ‘Sichuan Food Festival’ with Guest Chef XIE Zheng Jie from the Hilton Shanghai’s award-winning Sichuan Court restaurant to demonstrate his authentic Sichuan Cuisine, from 20th February — 1st March, 2009 at Liu Chinese Restaurant.
Master Chef Xie from Chengdu brings his 30 years of experience in the restaurant industry to prepare authentic Sichuan favourites with an imperial touch using fresh herbs and spices flown from Chengdu. Xie having formerly worked with the Great Wall Sheraton in Beijing before joining the Hilton Shanghai five years ago.
Sichuan Court has twice been voted best Sichuan restaurant in Shanghai by leading city publications, Shanghai Tatler and Modern Weekly. It was also honoured with a ‘Great Table’ award for best Sichuanese in Shanghai by the reputed independent Tables group of publications in Singapore that recognises first-rate restaurants in Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai and Singapore.

Chengdu tea smoked duck
Foie gras with camphor wood and tea smoked duck
King prawn with spicy soya sauce
Braised scallops Yu Xiang sauce
Braised shark’s fin soup
Pan-fried Mandarin fish with preserved vegetables
Stir-fried prawns and cashew nuts with Sichuanese dried peppers
