Thai bourse promotes investment at Money Expo Pattaya

Bangkok--5 Feb--SET The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) will hold a “SET in the City Zone” for the first time this year at Money Expo Pattaya 2009, Chonburi province. This February 6-8 event will inform the public on the eastern seaboard of investment alternatives and enhance their abilities in personal financial planning. “Chonburi accounts for 32% of the eastern seaboard’s deposits, and it has the highest securities trading volume as well. Thus, SET’s activities to promote understanding of personal finance and encourage people to manage their savings will be highly beneficial to them.” Ms.Sopawadee Lertmanaschai, SET chief marketing officer, market and post-trade services, disclosed. “Amid the current economic crisis, people are seeking for alternatives that give them higher benefits than banking deposits. SET therefore will introduce various financial products to them. These rang from equities and bonds to derivatives, and the latest product, gold futures, that allows them to gain potential profits from gold price volatility, “ added Ms. Sopawadee. Activities at the “SET in the City Zone” will include Zone1: SET Services, which will offer four services: Easy Trading, Easy Tax-Free (LTFs and RMFs), Easy Money Clinic (Financial health checking and portfolio management), and Easy Money Info (Statistical data providing). In Zone2: I’m an Investor, participants will gain from finding about services provided by SET members, e.g., opening securities trading accounts. In Zone3: Talks, the public will benefit from finding out more about investment types and listening to analysis by financial experts.
