AirAsia, the leading and largest low-cost carrier in Asia today announces that it will be introducing an innovative product which is designed for added choice that will further enhance the comfort level of its guests. This regional product which was opened for sale on 5th February 2009 on all AirAsia flights (AK, FD and QZ) will be implemented on flights from 17th February 2009 onwards.
For a small fee, this new product aptly named ‘Pick A Seat’ offers assigned seating options for guests, an easier boarding, a number of seats with extra legroom and ultimately a whole new flying experience for travelers.
The ‘Pick A Seat’ comes in two categories; Hot Seat and Standard Seat. For a mere RM25 one way, guests can purchase a Hot Seat. These hot seats are allocated for the first five front row seats and the two rows of seats at the emergency exit of the aircraft cabin. The best part is that these Hot Seats come together with Xpress Boarding. With the commencement of this new product, Xpress Boarding as a stand alone service will be discontinued.
Meanwhile, the Standard Seats are other remaining seats onboard other than the Hot Seats. For only RM5, guests can opt for their favourite seats onboard; be it at the window or aisle and even get choose to sit with their families or friends.
Guests who do not wish to purchase this product will be assigned seat numbers randomly; hence there will be no more fuss of rushing to reserve seats and frustrating long queues upon boarding anymore. All seats can be pre-booked (ASR-Advance Seat Request) or guest will be randomly allocated a seat prior to check-in.
