Forest Industry Organization (FIO), Thai Elephant Conservation Centre — the National Elephant Institute (NEI) under the Royal Patronage of HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana, and River City Shopping Complex will organize a charity event entitled “Art of Chang Thai” during March 5 — 15, 2009 at 11 a.m. — 8 p.m. in the Grand Hall of River City Shopping Complex, Chareon Krung 24.
This event will feature a vast array of Thai elephantine art works and handicrafts such as woodcarving, an exhibition of Thai Elephant Conservation Centre, an Office of National Museum’s exhibition about the state elephant on which the king formerly rode on state occasions, an exhibition about white elephants in the reign of King Rama IX, an art exhibition of well-known artists, teak furniture of Forest Industry Organization, t-shirt designed with pictures of elephants, paintings by elephants, etc.
A part of this event’s earnings are donated to Thai Elephant Conservation Centre to save the injured elephants.
Free shuttle boat service to River City from BTS sky train, Saphan Taksin station, and the exhibition’s admission is free of charge.
