Bangkok--26 Feb--AIS Advanced Info Service (Public) Co., Ltd., in collaboration with Tourism Authority of Thailand, launches the campaign “Theaw Sukjai Thuew Thai Aunjai Pai Thook Thee,” an activity supporting and encouraging Thai tourists to more frequently travel within the country, with the convergence of Internet and mobile phone technologies providing access to TAT website, www.TourismThailand.org, through the service e-Travel Map and Map on Mobile service from AIS, to facilitate tourists in search of information including tourist destinations, accommodations/hotels, restaurants, gift shops, festivals and traditions as well as other activities to promote tourism. Mr. Somprasong Boonyachai, Vice Chairman of the Board of Advanced Info Service (Public) Co., Ltd. or AIS, disclosed “We aim at contributing to travelling Thailand promotion, a key factor driving the Thai economy amidst the crisis. Moreover, the current technology enabling mobile phones to connect with the Internet without limitations, when combined with the power of AIS network reaching countrywide coverage, will allow tourists to conveniently search travelling information such as tourist destination guide for each area, recommended restaurants from each source, popular goods of respective areas and the privileges from AIS Plus available throughout the country so that tourists will be completely happy and enjoy during travelling.” “Besides, we believe that easy access to travelling information on mobile phones permits people to travel not only in the specified tourism festivals. With the accompanying information, business or any other trips can be planned together. The highest benefits will be distributed to local people or entrepreneurs of the community in each area and, in return, the nation’s economy will be strengthened.” Mrs. Juthaporn Rerngronasa, Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, unveiled “As a Government Agency responsible for marketing and public relation on the image of country’s tourism, we have implemented various strategies in order to invite foreign tourists to visit Thailand. In addition, we encourage Thai people to increasingly travel within the country. Following the political unrest and the prevailing recession in today’s world, foreign tourists have postponed their schedule on travelling to Thailand and eventually affected the overall country’s economy. As a consequence, TAT has executed a broad spectrum of marketing strategies, both Online and Offline, in order to stimulate and encourage Thai people to travel more and spend more within the country.” TAT and AIS expect that the campaign “Happy Travelling Thailand, Feeling Warm Everywhere” will promote travelling activities and domestic spending and enhance the opportunity and channel to present travelling products and services of the entrepreneurs to the tourists via mobile phones, in compliance with the Government policy “Enjoy Travelling Thailand, Expedite Thai Economy” in promoting domestic travelling and supporting the plan to make Thailand one of the leading Online marketing for tourism.” Further information please contact AIS PR : Waralee (May) 0818112412, 022995063, [email protected]
