Bangkok--2 Mar--dtac Happy and e-pay introduce another electronic refill channel for prepaid customers to add call credits with cashiers at shops, book stores, gas stations, online game shops where there are e-pay and Happy logos. Every customer who makes the first refill worth at least 300 baht through this channel within March 31 will receive a free call credit worth 10% of the first refill amount. Panupan Sanguanpak, Head of Commercial Development Department of Total Access Communication Public Company Limited (dtac), says that the collaboration is aimed at providing customers with conveniences in refilling call credits. Customers can increase call credits with cashiers at shops, gas stations and online game shops with e-pay and Happy logos in Bangkok and other provinces, excluding the shops that are telecom channels. The shops that serve Happy refills account for as much as 70% of all shops with e-pay logos. Consequently the company better meets customers’ refill demands with the wider coverage of refill services. Customers can add their call credits by 50-500 baht per refill. They can inform the cashiers of the amount they will add. After paying for the refills, cashiers will print receipts and the refill codes that customers can use in their normal refill procedures. “The strength of e-pay is the variety of shops that are the sale channels as they can meet the lifestyles of all groups of customers. With over 2,000 of shops, we better reach customers. Under the economic slowdown, customers tend to have smaller but more frequent refills. We believe the new electronic refill channel will make it easier for customers to increase call credits,’’ Mr. Panupan says. To promote the new refill channel, Happy is offering a Happy bonus to the customers who try it for the first time. A refill worth 300 baht and over will be rewarded with a bonus worth 10% of the refill amount. The offer is valid from today until March 31. At present, dtac divides its refill business into 3 main categories: refill cards, the Happy Online refill system, and other electronic means. Prepayment from refill cards accounts for 60% of the total income of the business. Contributions from Happy Online and other electronic refill means stand at 33% and 7% respectively. This year dtac will promote Happy Online and other electronic refill methods. The company expects to achieve the proportion of prepayment through refill cards to that via online and electronic means of 40:60 within this year. Napaporn Wilaikit, chief executive officer of Electronic Payment Network (Thailand) Co., Ltd., says that for three years the company has been offering conveniences to the customers who use refill cards for mobile phone, online game, international phone and internet services. The collaboration with dtac in selling Happy refill cards through various channels including the outlets of SE-ED Book Centers, B2S, Watsons, Petronas, Banchak, Shell, Esso, Jet Jiffy and other retail shops with “e-pay” logos will increase conveniences for Happy customers and better meet the demands of refill card users.
