EMC Wins More Than 50 New Commercial Customers in Thailand in 2008

Bangkok--5 Mar--PC & Associates Consulting EMC, the world leader in information infrastructure solutions, today highlighted its 2008 business performance and outlined a four-pronged go-to-market strategy to help organizations and growing companies in Thailand accelerate growth and improve operational efficiencies in the current macroeconomic climate. The strategy will also help EMC extend its leadership position in the global total addressable information infrastructure market, which is expected to cross US$73 billion by 2010, according to EMC estimates. According to IDC*, EMC has 11.4% market share in Thailand from January to September 2008 in the US$34 million external storage market. This represents a sizeable market opportunity for EMC here. Thada Savetsila, EMC’s Country Manager for Thailand said: “In 2008, more than 50 new commercial customers in Thailand chose EMC to manage and safeguard their business-critical information. These include customers from industries such as healthcare, education, manufacturing, government and insurance.” In 2008, EMC Corporation posted total global consolidated revenues of a record US$14.88 billion, an increase of 12 percent year-over-year, and representing EMC’s sixth consecutive year of double-digit annual revenue growth. “In 2008, we saw companies in Thailand invest in content management and archiving solutions as well as security solutions. This trend was driven by the ever-growing number of transactions companies must track and preserve, compliance with regulatory authorities, and protecting data from theft and misuse.” said K. Thada. “We remain intensely focused on customers’ top priorities in 2009 — saving money, attaining a faster ROI, reducing risk and preparing for the delivery of next-generation data centers. We also remain committed to investing heavily in research and development to extend our technology lead and maintain rapid product rollout cycles. EMC has noted that in the prevailing economic climate, an increasing number of large and commercial companies are focused on solutions and services that help them improve operational efficiencies to maintain a competitive edge. “We believe that going forward, EMC’s four-pronged strategy will help these companies prepare themselves for growth when the economy turns around,” said K. Executive Briefing Centre (EBC) The Executive Briefing Centre (EBC) in Singapore, opened in early 2009, is the latest to join the EMC’s network of successful EBCs in the US, Ireland and Japan, which have welcomed more than 300,000 people since the EBC program started in 1994.
