Resort on Track for 2009 Second Half Opening
Radisson Plaza, the premium extension of the upscale, full service hotel brand, Radisson Hotels & Resorts, will be introduced in Southeast Asia this year with the opening of the new Radisson Plaza Resort Phuket Panwa Beach in Phuket, Thailand.
This new Radisson Plaza is scheduled to open in the second half of this year, and will be the first of seven new Radisson Plaza properties to open under the Carlson Hotels Worldwide portfolio in Asia Pacific. Carlson is the parent company of Radisson? Hotels & Resorts. The group plans to quadruple the number of hotels in Thailand within the next two years, adding close to 1,500 rooms in key destinations including Bangkok and Phuket.
“The opening of this resort marks an important milestone for the brand, as we will be present in one of the most stunning and sought after resort destinations of the region,” said Jean-Marc Busato, managing director — Asia Pacific, Carlson Hotels Worldwide. “It will be a signature resort in Phuket’s expanding and diversified tourism offering and will bring an added dimension in breadth and product appeal,” he added.
The 211-room resort will include 14 ocean villas and 15 pool villas with an infinity edge plunge pool. It will feature three meeting rooms, including a ballroom with floor-to-ceiling windows for banquets, which can accommodate up to 170 people banquet style or 220 people in theatre style.
Radisson Plaza Resort Phuket Panwa Beach will also feature three free-form swimming pools, Talay Spa - a wellness spa facility with six treatment rooms, Form - a lifestyle fitness centre, Sapparot Club - a dedicated zone for children, as well as a range of activities including kayaking, windsurfing, yoga and meditation.
The resort entwined amidst ten acres of lush flora and fauna is not only an ideal wedding venue, but also caters to families, couples, honeymooners and moderate sized meeting groups. It will be the only resort in Phuket serving authentic Mediterranean cuisine at its signature restaurant Azur.
