Dr. Wannarat Chanukul (4th right), Energy Minister presided over the completion ceremony of Maliwan G wellhead platform. Dr. Wannarat, together with Krairit Nilkuha (6th left), Deputy Permanent Secretary, Dr. Kurujit Nakornthap (right), Director-General of Department of Mineral Fuels and Energy Ministry senior officers, visited and observed the platform construction and fabrication for Chevron’s petroleum production at CUEL fabrication yard in Chonburi. CUEL’s Managing Director Narong Boonyasaquan (4th left) granted a warm welcome while Boonchai Cowawintaweewat (3rd right), representing Chevron Management Team, reported to the minister the Maliwan G wellhead platform project details.
The Maliwan G wellhead platform construction started in February 2007. The platform will be the 4th one to be sent out to the concession block B8/32, Maliwan operating field. The Maliwan G wellhead platform has a capacity to produce 45 million cubic feet of natural gas reserves and 2.4 billion barrels of crude oil on a daily basis. The installation is scheduled in the 3rd quarter of 2009. The construction budget of Maliwan G wellhead platform is an approximate of 1.4 billion baht.
