He's a Bollywood A-lister, director and Oscar-nominated producer, but Aamir Khan's latest adventure will see him join CNN for a special TALK ASIA LIVE event. Filmed in front of a live studio audience in Mumbai, host Anjali Rao will be talking to the Bollywood superstar on his latest record-breaking movie, his road to stardom and his sentiments on the Mumbai terror attacks.
Starting out as a child actor, Khan is one of the very few talents whose work is applauded equally by commercial and critical audiences. His latest work, a Bollywood remake of the Tamil film ’Ghajini’, broke all Indian box office records and became the highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time. Padmashree Aamir Khan shares with CNN’s Anjali Rao how he prepared mentally and physically for the action-thriller, including a year of physical training at the gym.
Having acted in over 30 films, produced three and made his directorial debut with ’Taare Zameen Par’, Khan rose to international prominence in 2001 with ’Lagaan’. The movie not only caught the attention of a global audience with a medley of Bollywood song and dance and a dramatic narrative, but also the eye of the Academy Awards and was nominated for ’Best Foreign Language Film’.
The Mumbai-born actor will also talk about the terror attacks in his hometown in November 2008, sharing how it affected him and the whole country.
