Emerson Network Power Appoints Ross Campbell as Vice President for Energy Systems in Asia Pacific

ข่าวทั่วไป Thursday April 9, 2009 17:01 —PRESS RELEASE LOCAL

Bangkok--9 Apr--Spark Communications Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson (NYSE:EMR) and the global leader in enabling Business-Critical Continuity, has promoted Ross Campbell as vice president for its Energy Systems business in Asia Pacific. Prior to this role, Campbell was senior director for Emerson’s Telecom business, responsible for key accounts in Asia Pacific. With more than 17 years’ experience in the telecom industry, Campbell brings with him an exceptional sales track record, a keen understanding of industry issues and a close affinity with Emerson’s customers and their business challenges in a highly competitive market. “The telco market is very fragmented in that many organisations source their technology — DC power, precision cooling, power protection and so on — from different suppliers,” says Campbell. “This can result in inefficiencies across the network, not to mention poor economies of scale from low-volume purchases, multiple maintenance contracts and suppliers working to different schedules and SLAs. “My job is to help our customers identify and eliminate these inefficiencies — to provide them with end-to-end solutions that make better use of their budgets and improve the ROI for their business,” says Campbell. “We can do that by introducing network-wide management and control systems that help lower operating expenditure and reduce long-term capital expenditure, not only on new equipment and infrastructure but also from markedly reduced energy bills.” Campbell is charged with consolidating Emerson’s sales teams across the region, and communicating Emerson’s whole-of-business concept to its Asia Pacific customers. “Asia Pacific is the ‘engine room’ of Emerson’s global R&D and manufacturing, so we have incredible momentum in areas such as hybrid and alternative energy sources that are front-of-mind for large telcos looking to cut costs and reduce their carbon footprints,” says Campbell. “There is no other company in this market that can compete with Emerson’s history, financial stability, local support, and proven leadership in R&D, technology and global services.” “Latent demand for broadband in Thailand should result in strong demand for telecommunications services over the next few years. This will primarily be driven by wireless broadband technologies such as 3G and WiMAX, with operators already allocating budgets for the deployment of this technology. Current broadband penetration is less than 10 per cent, so there is plenty of room to grow, but care should be taken even at this early stage to invest in the right infrastructure that can scale as required and provide the best possible protection against service disruptions” says Campbell. Campbell is based in Australia and is married with two children.
