The Ground Customer Services Department of Thai Airways International Public Company Limited is offering additional services for customers during Songkran Festival, which includes Pre-Group Check-In Services, Home Print Boarding Pass, and special Thai new year festivities at THAI’s business and first class passenger lounges for passengers flying THAI’s domestic and international flights.
Mr. Lek Klinvibul, THAI’s Managing Director, Ground Customer Services Department, said that the company introduced the Home Print Boarding Pass for passengers traveling domestic flights, in order to increase customer convenience. Passengers may check-in for THAI flights on the company’s website www.thaiairways.com by clicking on Internet Check-In and follow online instructions for seat assignment and print out their boarding passes from home. Upon arrival at the airport, passengers who do not have baggage to load on the flight may show their self-printed boarding pass and national identity card to the airport security agent, without contacting the check-in counter, and proceed to the boarding gate. Passengers who have baggage should proceed to the special check-in counter, designated for internet check-in passengers with a Home Print Boarding Pass, to load baggage at counters C14-16. Initially, this service will be provided for domestic flights only. In future, the company will extend this service for international flights.
In addition, to better facilitate large numbers of passengers traveling during Songkran Festival, especially those traveling in groups, the company has introduced Pre-Group Check-In services for passengers traveling in groups of 10 people or more. As of today onwards, passengers may Pre-Group Check-In at the Ticketing Office, THAI’s Head Office, Vibhavadi Rangsit Road, Building 2, Ground Floor, open Mondays-Saturdays at 08.00-17.00 hrs. (closed on Sundays and public holidays). Passengers using this service are requested to contact THAI’s Ticketing Office at on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road in advance by calling Tel. 02-545-4159. Pre-Group Check-In aims to facilitate large groups of passengers, particularly during peak hours, and ease waiting at airport check-in counters.
THAI’s Ground Customer Services Department has also arranged special Songkran Festival celebrations to celebrate Thai New Year for passengers traveling with THAI in First Class and Business Class, both domestic and international flights. Traditional Thai water blessing and Thai music will be part of the ceremony, at 07.00-19.00 hrs., with THAI ground staff dressed in Thai costume and Thai deserts such as Foi Tong, Tong Yip, Kanom Chan, Luk Choop, and Mango with Sticky Rice, for passengers traveling First Class. There will also be fruit and vegetable carving on display, with flower garland presented to passengers traveling First Class and Business Class on domestic and international flights, including passengers who are members of Royal Orchid Plus frequent flyer program, during 10-13 April 2009.
Passengers can check flight schedules and make reservations by accessing THAI’s website www.thaiairways.com or www.thaiairways.co.th or by calling THAI’s Ticketing and Reservation Office at Tel. 02-356-1111, 24 hours a day. Furthermore, THAI’s Ground Customer Services Department has set up Passenger Service Counters to provide flight information to passengers, in the front area of Check-In Counter Row C at Suvarnabhumi Airport. The company recommends that passengers plan to arrive at the airport 2 hours in advance of flight departure, since Songkran Festival is a long holiday period and passengers travel in large numbers.
