KTC celebrated the success of credit cards in golf category Organizing “KTC Junior Golf Tournament,” persuading young people to show their best swing the first year
Mr. Thawatchai Thitisakdiskul, Senior Executive Vice President, Credit Card Business, “KTC” or Krungthai Card Public Company Limited, announced the success of credit cards in golf category, “KTC collaborated with major allies in golf business to launch credit cards for golf lovers since 2005. At present, there are total five cards in this segment, which are, KTC — TaylorMade VISA Platinum/Titanium MasterCard, KTC — Alpine Golf Club VISA Platinum and KTC — Srixon VISA Platinum/Titanium MasterCard. There are over 7,200 cardholders with the average monthly card spending of 20,000 Baht. Most of the spending, approximately 6,000 Baht or 30% per month, is related to golf. Most members are men aged 30 to 50 and having minimum 35,000 Baht income.”
“What make the credit cards in golf category successful throughout four years are constantly increasing benefits from minor allies including the activities truly responding to the needs of golfers. The activities that clearly received good response are “KTC Golf Tournament,” which was organized for those who meet the specified credit card spending to play golf at a five-star exclusive golf course at special price and organization of “Golf Trip” both inside and outside the country, such as, Chiang Mai, Kunming, Cambodia and Australia. KTC card members who have children aged 6 to 16 can join the tournament at Bangkok Golf Course Par 3 six times, with 70 — 90 people each time throughout the year. The application fee is only 900 Baht. Also, Professional Golf Training or PGT Academy, the golf training institute operated by Thai people with the standard of an international institute offers 5,000-Baht training fee discount from the normal program of 15,000 — 30,000 Baht plus 50% Golf Clinic discount from 500 Baht to only 250 Baht every 4th Saturday of the month. It is expected that by the end of 2009, the credit card members in golf category will increase 20% and monthly spending increases 20%.”
