Bangkok--21 Apr--Thai Airways International
Thai Airways International’s First Class Lounge ranked the Best in Skytrax 2009 global survey of airlines.
Mr. Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax, commented on how THAI has gained true recognition of top-end quality being delivered, “THAI’s Royal First Class Lounge at Suvarnabhumi Airport is much more than just a comfortable area to wait for a flight. It offers a genuine luxury, with well-developed facilities and services while remaining comfortable and not crowded.”
Not only has THAI moved up from second place to first in Best First Class Lounge, which the company has received for the second time since 2007. The ranking on THAI’s airline cabin staff category has also climbed up from fourth to third place and THAI remains among the top five in the Best First Class airline award. The Skytrax “World Airline Awards” are conducted between August 2008 and March 2009. The Awards are highly regarded as “the world’s most respected and recognized Airline Awards.”
ACM Narongsak Sangapong, THAI’s Acting President, said the airline’s performance continues to place it in the top echelon of airlines at a time when Skytrax itself pointed to a very tough competition as every airline is also continuing to improve significantly on their products and services.
“We realize that we have to work even harder. Everyone at THAI continues to strive for further increase in our rankings in the future,” ACM Narongsak Sangapong said.
THAI’s Royal First Class Lounge at Suvarnabhumi Airport, Bangkok, has attracted highly positive comments since it was open in 2006. In the lounge section, THAI features five stars dining options and offers Spa and massage services for its customers. Staff services at THAI’s Royal First Class Lounge also earned five stars on service efficiency as well as general customer care.
