Bangkok--12 May--KBank
KASIKORNBANK is introducing K-Alternative Investment to offer greater investment opportunities by serving as a secondary market for debt instruments and aval-backed bills and offering K-Smart Note, an innovative investment product with interest or financial indices as the underlying indicators, and which guarantees full repayment of principal upon maturity. They offer customers new investment choices with enhanced liquidity.
Mr. Thiti Tantikulanan, Head of Capital Markets Business Division, KASIKORNBANK, said in a recent interview said that K-Alternative Investment would offer a wide variety of financial products as effective liquidity management tools amid the economic downturn. K-Alternative Investment consists of 2 main products namely Secondary Market for Debt Instruments and Aval-Backed Bills and K-Smart Note.
KBank customers and the general public can increase their investment liquidity via the Secondary Market for Debt Instruments and Aval-Backed Bills. The services, offered at KBank branches across the country, serve as a secondary market for private and public debt instruments as well as bills avaled or accepted by commercial banks. They are thus investment alternatives for those seeking to buy or sell debt instruments, while also allowing enhanced liquidity via aval-backed bills for businesses.
K-Smart Note features bill products issued by KBank that offer returns under specific conditions. Interest Rate Linked Note, one of the K-Smart Note products, offers returns linked to interest rate movements. For instance, K-Smart Inverse Floater Note is a product that offers returns inverse to interest rates in the market, therefore giving investors higher returns if the linked interest rate falls; however, K-Smart Switchable Note offers fixed high returns in the initial phase and variable returns thereafter. Also, the K-Smart Bear Rich Note is available to investors expecting bearish trends as this product offers higher returns if the linked interest rates are stable or do not exceed the target, but lower returns if the linked interest rates exceed the target level.
Equity Linked Note — another K-Smart Note product - offers returns linked to financial indices, or a specific group of securities. Among the Equity Linked Note products are K-Smart Asian Equity Protection Note where the return may increase or fall proportionately to the average return of a specific group of securities. K-Smart Double Barrier Note offers a fixed minimum return to investors, with conditions for extra returns linked to a specified financial index or the average return of a specific group of securities.
K-Smart Note is a new investment alternative that serves as effective portfolio management tools. Investors can gain better returns than with conventional financial products. The instrument maturity varies from over 1 year to 3 years. The minimum subscription amount is THB10 million and the multiples of THB1 million.
Mr. Thiti Tantikulanan added that K-Alternative Investment’s Secondary Market for Debt Instruments and Aval-Backed Bills are available at more than 680 KBank branches across the country.
