As part of its regional collaboration to raise greater awareness of the importance of businesses’ human resources on HIV/AIDS prevention education, the Thailand Business Coalition on AIDS (TBCA) - a non-profit organization that promote HIV/AIDS prevention education in the workplace — has recently provided 11 manual condom vending machines units to Standard Chartered Bank’s Sri Lanka Head Office in Colombo.
TBCA started its condom program five years ago under the HIV/AIDS Project supported by the Global Fund. The procurement of 11 condom vending machines for Standard Chartered Bank, Sri Lanka, is part of TBCA's condom program to be arranged for local workplaces, both in the business and the government sectors.
"TBCA's collaboration with Standard Chartered Bank, Sri Lanka, in condom vending machine distribution marks the first of many activities we plan to undertake regionally in the near future such as a training centre service and study visit for interested public to see how actively we and our business partners work on HIV/AIDS management and prevention in the workplace," said Dr. Anthony Pramualratana, TBCA Executive Director.
Currently, TBCA has installed over 2,000 units of condom vending machines at local workplaces in both the public and private sectors nationwide, and have sold over 800,000 pieces of condoms locally..
