FedEx Express has been singled out as one of Singapore Changi Airport’s top 10 cargo airlines -- for the fourth year in a row.
A subsidiary of FedEx Corp (NYSE: FDX), the world’s largest express transportation company, FedEx was the only international express freight carrier to achieve recognition as one of the airport’s ‘Top 10 Airlines by Cargo Carriage”.
The award was presented to FedEx on May 26 during the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore’s (CAAS) ‘Changi Airline Awards’ ceremony. The award selection criterion was based on the total volume of cargo that airlines shipped through Changi Airport in 2008.
“We are honored to have won this award for four consecutive years,” said David L. Cunningham Jr., president of FedEx Asia Pacific. “This reward reinforces our strong working relationship with the region’s leading airports, our global network capabilities and our commitment to continually providing outstanding customer service.”
Started in 2006, the annual CAAS award ceremony recognizes the airlines’ contribution to Changi Airport’s growth and celebrates the strong partnership between the Authority and the airlines operating at Changi Airport.
In addition, FedEx also received a number of key industry accolades at the 23rd annual Asian Freight & Supply Chain Awards (AFSCA) in April this year. These included “Best Air Cargo Carrier (North America)”, “Best All Freighter Airlines”, and “Best Logistics Service Provider (Air Freight)”.
