Bangkok--8 Jun--PRIMETEAM PR Visionarium Company has written a new chapter of municipal waste management in Thailand through a technology of Mechanical Biological Waste Treatment (MBT) of the FABER-AMBRA process, which is recognized as one of the best friendly environmental practice in the world. Mr. Suthichai Eamcharoenying President and Mr. Sombat Songtachalert Managing Director, Visionarium Co,Ltd., together with Mr. Wolfgang Tonges Managing Director and Mr. Chaiwat Schlicht General Manager, Faber Technologies Co,Ltd., from Germany have announced the project of “business partnership for municipal waste management” under MBT technology of the FABER-AMBRA process, marking the World Environment Day on June 5. To remark the special occasion, Dr. Raphael L’Hoest, Counsellor for Economic Affairs and Economic Cooperation, Germany expressed his congratulations on the productive business cooperation between Thailand company and Germany company. Moreover, Dr. Chaiyod Bunyagidj, Vice President, Thailand Environment Institute (TEI), delivered his speech on the overview of Waste Problems in Thailand. Mr. Suthichai Eamcharoenying, President, Visionarium Co,Ltd., voiced his confidence that the technology of Mechanical Biological Waste Treatment (MBT) of the FABER-AMBRA process would effectively manage a dramatic increase in a number of municipal waste, which is becoming a challenging problem to deal with. “We believed that, with the clean technology, it can spell out the success for waste management. But the mostly important thing is that the simply, but very functional technology is also a tool to mitigate the climate change impacts,” said Mr. Suthichai. Visionarium Company has been recently granted a patent of MBT technology of the FABER-AMBRA process from the German-based company Faber Technologies, which is the well-recognized technology among global community over its effectiveness for the municipal waste management. MBT is a combination between mechanical and biological treatment, resulting with better technology for green environment. The process of waste’s organic matters digested by MBT system of the FARBER—AMBRA process has nearly zero discharge of methane gas, which is one significant greenhouse gas of global warming phenomenal. “With the procedure, we can reuse and recycle the waste, together with create bio-gas from the waste left by the treatment. Moreover, MBT can expand the capacity of waste landfill site. For example, the landfill site will reach its full capacity to manage 120 tons of waste a day by six years. But MBT technology can extend the use period over 20 years ,” he added. Mr. Sombat Songtachalert, Managing Director, Visionarium Co,Ltd., further added that first pilot project of MBT technology of the FABER-AMBRA process has been introduced to Pitsanulok Municipality City since 1999. “We have the great successful model in Pitsanulok province. But the waste management is still a big problem in the country. We do hope that other related agencies will use the technology for better waste management,” said Mr. Sombat. On average, Thai people produce garbage and waste at least one kilogramme per day per person. The country has over 63 million populations. The press conference on the project of “business partnership for municipal waste management” under MBT technology of the FABER-AMBRA process will be held at Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel on June 3, 2009 at 14.00 — 16.00 pm.
