HSBC in Thailand introduces HSBC Premier Family Services — extending its seamless international personal banking privileges to family members of HSBC Premier customers. Services included are family financial planning by experienced Relationship Managers and global assistance for children of HSBC Premier customers — providing peace-of-mind for parents and ensuring their children are never left stranded when travelling or studying abroad.
Wichit Phayuhanaveechai, Head of Personal Financial Services, HSBC in Thailand, said the bank was very pleased to extend these exceptional services to family members of HSBC Premier customers, particularly children of Premier customers who have unique financial needs.
Mr Wichit said: “With our Global Safety Net, Premier customers will no longer be worried about their children who are travelling or studying abroad. This is an unparalleled feature distinguishing Premier Family Services from other banks. In the event of a lost wallet, children can take advantage of an international emergency funds facility - up to $2,000 cash in local currency from any of our 8,500 worldwide branches. They can also make use of International Account Opening facilities in 42 countries and territories, allowing them to have an account opened and ready for them when they arrive overseas. Also, they have the option of receiving a supplementary credit card with limits set to protect the cash shortfall.”
In addition, Premier customers can open both local and foreign currency accounts for their children under their own names. Such accounts will gain the benefits of having a dedicated Relationship Manager to help provide tailored financial advice specific to the needs of the customer’s family.
Mr Wichit said: “HSBC strongly believes that this new Premier service meets the financial needs of today’s families who want to plan for their children’s futures and will satisfy an increasing demand for parents to send children to study overseas. This will help HSBC grow its customer base and is anticipated to gain a positive response.”
The additional features for HSBC Premier’s children include:
- Emergency assistance through HSBC Premier Centers in 42 countries and territories
- Next day credit card replacement
- 24-hour helpline (1-908-Premier), internationally accessible from anywhere in the world
- Simple access to personal accounts through Personal Internet Banking
- A Savings account with on-line access and parental control over ATM withdrawal limits
- Cash withdrawals from HSBC ATM's worldwide - up to THB100,000 per day, free of service charges
To celebrate the new service launch, HSBC is offering 'My First Savings' programme. Premier customers who open a Premier ‘My Bank’ account with a minimum balance equivalent to USD10,000 will get a piggy bank worth THB1,000 plus a cash voucher worth THB5,000. They will also receive a 1.1 gram gold pendant worth THB1,175 for opening a time deposit account in a foreign currency with a minimum tenor of eight months. The promotion is valid from now until 31 July 2009.
For a minimum deposit or investment of 3 million baht, HSBC Premier customers can enjoy international banking services, wealth management planning and advice from experienced professionals, global assistance and emergency support around the world. Premier customers in Thailand are automatically granted the same Premier status wherever they go in the world.
