Bangkok--17 Jun--SET The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has selected the securities which will form the basis for calculating the SET50 and SET100 indices for H2/2009 (July 1-Dec 31, 2009). There are two changes in the securities for calculating SET50 and seven changes in SET100, Group Head, Market Development Santi Kiranand, PhD, said. Eligible firms must be among the top 200 securities having the highest daily average market capitalization values for the previous 12 months, and must have been listed for at least six months. A security’s eligibility for inclusion depends on its trading value on the main board compared to the market average from June 1, 2008 to May 31, 2009. Other eligibility criteria include having a free-float of no less than 20%, not being subject to delisting and not being, or likely to be, suspended for a lengthy period. Normally, the SET50 Index is calculated from the top 50 eligible securities and the SET100 from the top 100. Should a company lose its eligibility, a replacement will be selected from the next five securities immediately following those on the index list.
