Bangkok--18 Jun--KASIKORNBANK
KASIKORNBANK has developed an IVR (Interactive Voice Response) system for Amway bill payment service to provide enhanced convenience to more than 1 million Amway Business Owners and members across the country.
Dr. Prasarn Trairatvorakul, President of KASIKORNBANK, said in an interview that, aiming to maintain its leadership in e-banking services, the Bank has recently launched another bill payment service channel via the IVR system (Interactive Voice Response) with the use of Amway Credit Card, as part of K-Payment Gateway service. This latest innovation in credit card payment ensures increased data security and greater convenience for both participating merchants and customers as the service is directly supported by KBank.
The technology, introduced by Amway (Thailand), is the first of its kind in the country. The added payment channel will provide more convenience to 300,000 Amway Business Owners and 700,000 Members nationwide. With the use of the Amway Credit Card, product purchases can be made through IVR system by calling the Amway Call Center at 0-2725-8000. Customers will automatically receive a purchase order code together with the payment due amount. The system will then request users’ credit card information and personal identification number to process the credit card limit approval, the result of which will be known immediately, erasing the need to go to a bank counter or Amway shop for payment, providing added data security and greater convenience for customers as the bill payment service is directly supported by KBank.
Dr. Prasarn added that Amway uses KBank system as the main bill payment service. The amount of Amway’s bill payment transactions via KBank system is valued at 60% of Amway’s total sales. The Bank expects that the use of IVR system will increase bill payment transaction via KBank system.
An IVR system is the latest bill payment technology, which aim to provide greater convenience and protected security for Credit Cards. There is no need to give out Credit Card information number or other related information to officials as the bill payment service is directly supported by KBank IT systems. KBank plans to improve the bill payment service channel through IVR for other types of business for instance aviation, insurance and ticket & reservation industries.
Mr. Preecha Prakobkit, Managing Director of Amway (Thailand) Ltd., revealed that, because of the coinciding business philosophy of Amway and KASIKORNBANK in delivering the best products and services to consumers, the partnership between the two companies has extended for over nine years to date. In a most recent collaborative effort, the IVR system via Amway Credit Card has been jointly developed to raise the standards of product distribution channels. This innovative service will enable Amway Business Owners (ABOs) and Amway Members to do business with the company wherever they are, saving their time and cost in commuting to an Amway Shop and serving as a new alternative that fits perfectly in the current economic condition. I feel confident that this partnership will contribute actively to the mutual growth of both companies.
“To promote this innovative service, KASIKORNBANK is pleased to give early users a special offer. The first 1,000 Amway Business Owners (ABOs) and Amway Members who make an order with a minimum value of 2,000 baht/order will be given a K Excellence bag worth 200 baht, in addition to receive Smart Value Choice reward points from payment via Amway Credit Card. The offer is applicable from today until June 30, 2009.” he said.
“The partnership between Amway and KASIKORNBANK began in 2000 with introduction of Amway Debit Card, in which debit card features were integrated into conventional ABO’s ID Card. Later, we jointly launched Amway Credit Card, Co-branded credit card for ABOs and Members. The number of these cardholders currently totals 28,400 with sales of 3 billion baht paid via Amway Credit Card in 2008.” added Mr. Preecha.
