The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET)’s Board of Governors today (June 24, 2009), appointed a new vice chairman and welcomed two governors to replace those whose tenure had ended or had resigned.
The incoming governors had been elected as such in extraordinary meeting of SET member companies No. 3/2009 on May 12, 2009. The new members are Mr. Paiboon Nalinthrangkurn, Chief Executive Officer of TISCO Securities Co., Ltd.; Ms. Viparat Misitsakul, Chief Operating Officer of UBS Securities (Thailand) Ltd. and Mr. Somjate Moosirilert, Chairman and Chairman of the Executive Board of Thanachart securities PLC, SET Executive Vice President and Board Secretary Suthichai Chitvanich said.
Mr. Paiboon and Ms. Viparat replace Mr. Wiboon Perm-Arayawong and Ms. Pattera Dilokrungthirapop, whose terms had ended. The two newcomers’ terms will be from May 28, 2009 — May 27, 2011. Mr. Somjate replaces Mr. Suthep Peetakanont, who had resigned. Mr. Somjate’s term will be from June 1, 2009-May 27, 2010.
The SET Board then appointed Mr. Somjate as its Vice Chairman.
