Bangkok--5 Aug--Sports Authority of Thailand Press Center Branch Committee under the Public Relations Committee for the 1st Asian Martial Arts Games 2009 [JU JITSU] Thailand captured another two silver medals through the Jujitsu competition in the inaugural Asian Martial Arts Games at the Bangkok Metropolitan Youth Centre (Thai-Japan) Stadium yesterday. With only three participating nations vying for the gold in the opening day of the sports, the events were competed in a round-robin format. In the women’s duo category, the Thai pairing of Saowanee Limpanatingyong and Wassanaporn Samthong, who ousted India’s Sakshi Singha and Gule surkhab Wani 80-56, had to be content with a silver medal after falling 83-79 to Shabina nawaz Janjua and H. farah Riaz from Pakistan in the other match. The other medal was added to the hosts’medal tally when Saowanee teamed up with Bodin Panjabutra to trounce Lalit Singh and Sakshi Singh from India 86-61in their first bout, but failed to go on for the gold, going down to Shabina nawaz Janjua - Muhammad haroon shakir Siddiqui of Pakistan in the following match in the duo mix class.
