Marie Callas, a woman with fire and music in her soul inspires the ESCADA Fall/Winter 2009 collection.
Her character can be clearly seen in the silhouette — as sharp and strong shoulders are tailored in coats with touches of fur, and jackets that pair with skinny cropped trousers or the new novelty skirts. Capes are a must but reworked in knit and pattern to create a singular dramatic effect. Very feminine elaborate detailing is a focal point from flirty dresses to show stopping gowns in liquid velvets and muted satin chiffons.
Colors are strong, yet muted and modest. Bougainville matches with slate grey and Carmen red blends in with chocolate and creams. The prints integrate the color palette in bold and graphic techniques with exemplified paisleys and magnified animal patterns to give a modern stylized edge.
For ESCADA, the beauty of the Fall/Winter 2009 collection lies in the clever mix of strong femininity with a modern movement.
ESCADA Sport Fall/Winter 2009
Cities of Northern America — from Boston via Philadelphia to Seattle and as far as the wintery mountains of Aspen — and their manifold cultures and impressions are the inspiration for the ESCADA SPORT Fall/Winter 2009 collection.
Ethnic influences are paired with military inspired elements to create a strong but look — traditional designs with a contemporary twist. The material mix is skillful, working with oversized knits, silk skirt and new washed jeans. Notably characteristic for this season’s look are the easy cut leather jackets and coats with vintage finishing.
The intense colors purple, dark cerise, classic red and bright yellow are accentuating the natural feminine feeling of the collection.
