Bangkok--25 Aug--Fitch Ratings
Fitch Ratings will host its annual conferences at three locations in Asia, starting with Bangkok on 31 August, Monday. The hugely popular half-day conference will then move to Singapore on 1 September and finally on to Taipei on 3 September. Senior regional members of the agency's financial institutions and sovereign teams will present on various banking related issues, as well as country-specific and global economic outlooks. Speakers of note include Mr. Pradit Phataraprasit, Thailand's Deputy Minister of Finance. He will be opening the conference in Bangkok.
David Marshall, Managing Director of Financial Institutions will talk about the US and European banking systems and will discuss Asia-Pacific banking issues at each location. In Singapore, Ambreesh Srivastava, Senior Director, Financial Institutions will provide a Banking Review of India and Southeast Asia. Jonathan Lee, along with his team of Taipei-based analysts, will present on local financial institutions (including life insurers), and focus on the Financial Market Outlook.
In Bangkok, Vincent Milton, Managing Director and Lertchai Kochareonrattanakul, Senior Director, will focus on Thailand's major banks and corporations and discuss how they have held up despite weak macroeconomic conditions.
Presenting at all stops is James McCormack, Managing Director and Head of Asia-Pacific Sovereigns, who will discuss "Asia and the Global Recovery", and what the sovereign rating implications are for the various economies.
