According to Dr. Apichai Boontherawara, President of Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand), EXIM Thailand is ready to fully respond to the government and Ministry of Finance’s financial stimulus policy. The Bank has initiated the “EXIM Credit Fast Track Fair” which is the first of its kind organized by EXIM Thailand. The fair will comprise booth displays featuring integrated export advisory and other services provided by EXIM Thailand to all kinds of businesses. Individual exporters and investors will also be offered financial packages specially designed to suit their specific needs. The fair will take place at Lifestyle Hall, 2nd Floor, Siam Paragon on Sunday September 6, 2009, between 10.00 to 22.00 hrs.
Highlights of the fair include: 1) SMEs’ 20-question Business Health Check-up, to gauge SME exporters’ business viability and readiness to apply for working capital loan under “EXIM Credit Fast Track” program, which is an express credit service to help Thai exporters and investors survive the current global financial crisis; 2) introduction of two new financial facilities, namely “EXIM for Your Suppliers,” designed to increase liquidity of EXIM Thailand customers’ suppliers and “Buyer’s Credit,” aimed at enhancing purchasing power of foreign importers while promoting export of Thai goods and services; and 3) fee discount offer on export bill collection and negotiation as well as buyer/bank risk assessment services, exclusively for EXIM Thailand’s customers.
“EXIM Credit Fast Track” consists of 1) “EXIM Credit Express,” offering a revolving credit line up to 10 million baht, the application result of which will be notified to eligible exporters within 5 business days after fulfilling loan document requirements; 2) Working Capital Loan offering a revolving credit line over 10 million baht under which the Bank will notify exporters whether their application passes preliminary screening within 7 days after receiving complete loan documents and credit approval result within 15-30 business days after application result notice, depending on credit line amount; 3) Term Loans/ Project Finance for Exporters and Investors under which application screening result will be notified within 15 business days after satisfying loan document requirements. Credit approval result will be available within 45 business days after application result notice.
“EXIM Thailand is now accelerating its service expansion and has initiated new projects to support Thai exporters and investors, both directly and indirectly. The Bank also revamps its service offerings by streamlining its operational process, easing credit approval criteria and opening additional sub-branches under the “One Branch Two Banks” or dual-bank branches program in collaboration with the Government Savings Bank. These measures are aimed to boost the growth of Thai export and economy during the financial downturn, which has caused a liquidity shortage among businesses worldwide and an increase in domestic and international trade risks,” said Dr. Apichai.
