Bangkok--28 Aug--Grayling
Huntsworth plc, the listed global public relations and healthcare communications company, announced on Thursday that Grayling is to become its lead international public relations and public affairs group - one of four new divisions created in a major re-structuring.
The new Grayling will result from a merger of sister companies Trimedia (PR operations in UK and Western Europe), MmD (PR operations in Central and Eastern Europe) and Grayling (PR, public affairs, event management and international investor relations - Asia, UK and Europe and USA). The changes create a US$114 million revenue consultancy - the third biggest independent communications consultancy in the world.
The news has been welcomed by Nigel Kennedy, previously CEO and now Deputy Chairman of the new enlarged Grayling.
"This development means that Grayling - which has established itself as a major brand since its inception in 1981 - now becomes a leading global name. The combination of talent and skills within the three organisations creates a major new force in international communications and is a hugely exciting opportunity for all of us," he said.
Huntsworth CEO, Lord Chadlington, will be the new Grayling Executive Chairman. Michael Murphy, currently CEO of Trimedia International, will become Grayling CEO.
Grayling Thailand’s Managing Director, Justin Barnett, said: “This is very positive news for our clients and staff. We have worked closely with our sister companies within Huntsworth in recent years and this takes our international reach to a new level. The merger will enable our clients to access a seamless international and global network beyond our presence in Asia, including outstanding public affairs resources in Brussels and the UK.”
Grayling now comprises over 800 staff based in 44 principal offices spanning Western, Central & Eastern Europe, Russia and Eurasia, and the West and East coasts of the US.
