Bangkok--3 Sep--Maxima Consultants Lots of cheers and laughs at the premiere stage play on ‘Pleung’(Strip Off) recently performed by Bangkok University Theatre Company at M Theatre on New Petchburi Road. The show proved successful as laughs to tears could be heard all through the performance. The 60-cast member are former and existing students of Bangkok University and a leading role by Sasidsorn Suithigasame, a former episode cast in long running drama series Nong Mai Rai Borisut. The show will be running at M Theatre until September 13, 2009. To celebrate the grand premiere show, guests were treated to assorted cocktail menus prepared by lecturers and students of the Humanities Faculty of Bangkok University to show their talents. The live show attended by many distinguished guests such as Khunying Dhipavadee Meksawan, Voranun Issarasena Na Ayudhya, Kittithep Devahastin Na Ayudhya, Thitiya Hoontrakul, Sonia Vacharasinthu, Nophasit Thiengtham, Atchariya Sinrachatanant, Mintita Wattanakul and many more. Petch Osathanugrah, an Executive Producer of ‘Pleung’ said ‘For now ‘Pleung’ is surely perfect for audiences that hungry more in search of a comedy fix in today’s depressing climate. The stage play by Bangkok University Theatre is also known for professional accomplishments in an art form in our nation. We commit to developing an innovative and passionate exploration of theatre performance that makes connections to our audiences and society. In the meantime, our aim is to train artistic leaders and attitudes to prepare them for careers in the professional theatre as well as create the valued production not for commercial purposes but rather an essential content for today lives.’ ‘Pleung’ tells the story of six unemployed men who decide to form a male striptease act to survive for their dignity. The stage performance is written and directed by talented director Asst.Prof.Punnasak Sukee whose list of critically acclaimed productions include ‘Dear Death’, ‘Dancing to Nirvana’, ‘I Shall Ride the Rainbow When I Grow Up’, ‘Cabaret’ and etc. Pleung is truly worth for a mass audience to assure their self-worth and take pride in being who you are. After working through fears and anxieties through striptease act, one can overcome his inner demons and find his strength in humanity. Despite being a comedy, the stage play also touches on popular subjects such as unemployment, father’s rights, depression, political dispute and even Panda fever. The show will play until September 13, 2009 (except Monday and Tuesday) at 7:30 p.m. at M Theatre on New Petchburi Road next to Charn Issara II Tower.
