Ministry of Commerce by Internal Trade Department, today kicks off the campaign entitled “Thai Food... Make Sure It's Thai Ingredient launching new TV commercial designed to create awareness and promote Thai ingredients for authenticity of Thai foods. The new TV commercial will only be broadcasted in the overseas markets via international media networks, such as BBC Network and Discovery Channel 1, etc. under the concept that “Tastiness and authenticity of Thai food come from the use of ingredients from Thailand” so as to raise awareness among foreigners who love Thai food and to persuade Thai restaurant operators overseas to use the ingredients from Thailand. The campaign is expected to help boost agricultural product exports and generate income for both Thai farmers and the nation.
Commerce Minister, Mrs. Porntiva Nakasai, today presides over the launching ceremony of the “Thai Food...Make Sure It's Thai Ingredient” campaign, which has been designed to promote the use of Thai ingredients in cooking authentic Thai foods. This is because the Thai foods are quite famous and being widely accepted by consumers around the world. So, all Thai restaurants need to use Thai ingredients to ensure the authentic taste of Thai foods. The campaign will be communicated through TV commercial created to reinforce strong image and popularity of Thai foods among the foreigners. The campaign is in line with the policy of Commerce Ministry to stimulate trades and overall economy of the country, and to push Thailand forwards to sustainable growth and to become one of leading trade hubs in Asia.
“The launch of our new campaign today will be part of the Ministry strategic plan set to promote the Ministry of Commerce in the global level. This commercial will only be broadcasted overseas via popular media such as BBC Network and Discovery Channel 1, which have been recognized as the world-class news and documentary channels.” said Porntiva.
The idea of this commercial is to support local farmers and the export of agricultural produces to be used as ingredients for cooking Thai foods. The commercial features strong content in creating awareness and promoting authentic Thai foods among foreigners who love Thai foods while at the same time persuading the operators of Thai restaurants overseas to use the original ingredients from Thailand.
“Thai Food...Make Sure It's Thai Ingredient” will be one of the major campaigns that reflects Internal Trade Department's commitment in driving the country's economy and trade so as to generate incomes in the system, both up to down stream. Internal Trade Department is the working unit under Ministry of Commerce responsible for promoting fair trade and stimulating the country's economy and trade. Its aim is to promote better living for the Thai farmers throughout the Kingdom and to support strong foundation and sustainability of Thailand's agricultural sector.
The campaign will also reflect the original art and charisma of cooking as well as the delicious taste which help Thai foods gain their popularity and recognition over the world. Thai foods especially those made from quality Thai ingredients have been recognized as one of the most amazing foods and gained greater confidence on the offering of original and authentic Thai taste. The move will help raising standard of Thai restaurants in all markets around the world, and also stimulate greater spending of their customers. It will also support the export of agricultural products from Thailand, which will result in the guarantee for good prices which would lead to better living and security of the Thai farmers.
“Thai Food…Make Sure It’s Thai Ingredient” is another strategic campaign in creating added value for the whole supply chain which would not only help enhance the image of Thai food but also promote the export of agricultural products. It will effectively help the country getting through recession.
