As part of the classical line up of Bangkok’s 11th International Festival of Dance & Music, Russia’s Ekaterinburg Opera Theatre will be staging Puccini’s ever-popular Tosca and Madame Butterfly operas on September 9th and 11th, respectively, at the Thailand Cultural Centre. Both operas will each be performed by over 150 singers and musicians, with award-winning leading sopranos and soloists, under the baton of Fabio Mastrangelo and Mikhail Granovsky, respectively.
Sandwiched in between these two memorable operas, will be the Symphony Concert performed by the Ekaterinburg Symphony Orchestra on September 10th and conducted by Fabio Mastrangelo, who is renowned for ‘his highly individual, fluid gesture and his strong interpretive and technical technique’. While the first part of the concert will feature Johannes Brahms’ Symphony No. 4, the second part will showcase Sergei Rachmaninov’s Symphony No. 2.
