Thai AirAsia is confident its new media will mark innovation in the field while reflecting its characteristics of being ‘fun and friendly.’ Mr. Nimitz Modrakee, CEO of 124 Communications Public Company Limited — PR124, revealed that the company is proud to be awarded with a contract by Thai AirAsia to manage all the so-called new media of Thai AirAsia, “Thai AirAsia is the leading low-cost airline in Asia with continuous top-of-mind position, due to its brand new aircraft flying as frequent as 117 flights per day to destinations throughout the nation and Southeast Asia, catering over 5 million passengers a year. Additionally, Thai AirAsia is to expand its fleet from 15 to 18 by the end of this year and will add brand new Airbus A320 to 40 by the year 2013. Considering an airline as a new media for advertising and PR campaign, Thai AirAsia definitely has competitive edge for it can reach a massive and vast variety of people from businesspersons and entrepreneurs to frequent flyers in terms of both business and leisure.” He furthered, “PR124 realizes its great potential since Thai AirAsia is very flexible. Its new media can thus range from boarding pass, baggage tag, in-flight magazine, website to aircraft wrap or even a ‘theme aircraft’ which can be tailored to suit clients’ needs. There are so many interesting new tools can be explored here only at Thai AirAsia.” Thai AirAsia Company Limited CEO, Mr. Tassapon Bijleveld, said that the company awarded PR124 with this contract because of its high reputation in integrated communications with a proven track record it had done for many national-level PR Campaigns, plus the fact that it recently teamed up with JCD Management and JC Decaux (Thailand) as partners in out-of-home marketing agency, I, therefore, believe that PR124 will be able to meet my expectation. Mr. Stephan Taib, Managing Director of JCDecaux (Thailand) Company Limited said that, “The company and PR124 has been in business for some time, since PR124 has recommended many customers who wanted to reach their target audience through out-of-home media. In this case, JCDecaux and JCD Management will market out-of-home media of Thai AirAsia. “Even though the current global economy is yet to pick up and airline business around the world receives an impact, Thai AirAsia is still doing fine. Fortunately, we are on the right track; managing to get lowest operational costs and setting small margins in order to offer the best alternative of flying to our guests. Therefore, Thai AirAsia has continuously thrived and been going stronger and stronger. Our image is favorable, through word-of-mouth not only our price is very attractive, but our service is also excellent. Additionally, our routings, flight schedules and frequency of the flights are also factors that customers prefer us to others.
