HP And Springboard Research Discuss Thailand Public Sector IT Spending Which Is Set To Exceed US$1 Billion by 2011

Education is the largest governmental segment in terms of IT spending, accounting for an estimated 33% of the total; while defense & public safety and taxation & finance are the number two and three segments. Within IT, hardware accounts for over 60% of all spending, followed by IT services and lastly software. HP has collaborated with Springboard Research to organize the “Towards a Digitized Cloud Nation” conference that is focused on exploring how the public sector can harness the power of ‘cloud computing’ and other advanced technologies to increase service efficiency and effectiveness and ultimately facilitate the movement toward national transformation.
