The Embassy of Italy is presenting Carmina Burana on September 29, 2009 as part of this year’s International Festival of Dance & Music at the Thailand Cultural Centre.
Performed by the Spellbound Dance Company, a leading contemporary dance company from Italy, and directed by reputable choreographer Mauro Astolfi, Carmina Burana is a contemporary ballet which enunciates feelings and emotions of the troubled humanity during Medieval Europe. It is set to music by Carl Orff, Vivaldi and Caracciolo.
“It’s brilliant regarding the invention and the plasticity of the contemporary body language, it’s daring for the dynamic tension between figures and the scenic-space context. It’s one of the most beautiful and intense performance... The dancers are excellent, their virtuosities, jumps, rotations are very effective, especially those in the closet.” Paola De Simone, Corriere del Mezzogiorno
This will be the first every appearance in Bangkok by the Spellbound Dance Company so be prepared to be ‘spellbound’!
