The glamorous outfits are created by Nattawat Sivara, fashion designer. Thanpuying Vilavan Veeranuwat, secretary-general of Chitralada Shop and the Chairman of Miss Thailand 2009’s judging committee said ‘before taking part as a chairman of judging committee this year, I was involved in coaching the pageant for two years during the periods that Ms.Cheranand Savetanand and Ms.Prapassorn Panichakul were crowned Miss Thailand in 1965, 1966 respectively. In my opinion, Thai ladies have wide talent and abilities. But due to highly competition and hectic life, our ladies might lose the touch of being kind and gentle. So, to stretch out the most glamorous and differentiate among beauties, we need to conceive the gentle and kind into their hearts to earn an extra beauty and charm. This year, Chitralada is honor to showcase outfits by hand weaving methods for 18 finalists. The hand woven printed cotton fitting for 18 finalists, Yok Dok hand loom fabric for 10 finalists and the Thai silk on Rak Mai Rue Roey pattern for 3 finalists. The most extravaganza fittings will be the special hand loom on Rak Mai Rue Roey pattern which is specially created for our auspicious occasion of the 60th anniversary celebration of Royal marriage between our beloved King and Queen.’ Nattawat Sivara, fashion designer for Miss Thailand 2009’s finalists and Program Director of Chanapatana International Design Institute who is one of Thailand’s acclaimed designers behind the scene of trendsetting catwalks said ‘the outfit for this beauty pageant is divided into three sets. The first set shows beautiful movement and elegance with the idea of soft and flutter ladies of 80-90s in the Royal Flora garden atmosphere. The collection is not too flashy, rather the daywear style with modern silhouettes made by hand woven printed cotton in yellow, green, red and brown colors. Then, the second set interprets the portraits of women who prefer differences and uniqueness for the night party. This collection uses special hand loom textile and brings the glimpse of Thai women with compassion. It reveals the elegance of women’s neck and over the breast line as well as their sexy with something good to show off such as back stripping outfits. This collection uses purple, blue, golden brown and green. The final set is still under going and mixing different patterns to show the appreciation of Thai silk on Rak Mai Rue Roey pattern in purple and pink pastel. All designs create patchwork with variety fabrics including chiffon, silk chiffon and satin to present not only the casual, elegant garment but also stylish. Besides the beauty of silk threads and knots, the sets include crystal accessory to brighten up the night.’ Reveal the marvelous fittings by Chitralada and witness the charming in Thai ladies at the Final round of Miss Thailand 2009 on October 28, 2009 at Aksra Theatre or Channel 9 on 22:15 hrs.
